Reproductive technologies raise novel legal and ethical issues regarding property rights, surrogacy and egg donation, and family law disputes. Judith Daar, author of The New Eugenics: Selective Breeding in an Era of Reproductive Technologies (Yale University Press 2017), will provide an overview of the legal, medical, and ethical dilemmas surrounding access to infertility care in the United States. With nearly 1 in 7 couples in need of medical assistance for family formation, Professor Daar will explain how factors of cost, race and ethnicity, disability, marital status and sexual orientation hinder treatment options for many who could benefit from care. The ethics of assisted reproductive technologies will also be considered.
The presentation will include a catered lunch.

Free Valet Parking at Andrei's with event registration.
