Contract Attorney with Cha Law Ethics

This role is open to California residents only and is a 1099 Independent Contractor role who have 75 hours per month availability.

Who You Are

  • Experienced: You have at least 3 years of practicing law, with a focus on legal ethics, professional responsibility, or disciplinary defense. California State Bar experience is preferred.

  • Educated: You hold a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school and are an active member in good standing with the CA State Bar Association.

  • Knowledgeable: You are familiar with CA State Bar Association rules and regulations governing attorney conduct and ethics. You have strong analytical and research skills.

    What You’ll Do

  • Client Representation: Provide legal advice and representation to attorneys facing disciplinary proceedings. Present compelling arguments and safeguard their professional reputations.

  • Case Investigation and Documentation: Evaluate complaints, develop defense strategies, gather evidence, and draft legal briefs and motions.

  • Professional Development: Stay updated on legal ethics, participate in legal associations, and assist with training materials and presentations.

  • Other Duties: Practice daily billing through Clio, maintain 125 billable hours per month and 100 collected hours per month, and contribute to a positive work environment.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills, able to present information effectively and liaise with attorneys, legal assistants, and clients.

  • Tech-Savvy: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and comfortable with technology, able to quickly learn new platforms and software.

  • Adaptability: Thrive in a fast-paced environment, maintaining flexibility through changing priorities and demanding timelines. Teachable, open to learning, and collaborative.

    Pay:
